National Chicken Boy Day

September 1 is the ceremonial birthday of Chicken Boy, a 22-foot tall fiberglass statue that first appeared on top of a fried chicken restaurant in downtown Los Angeles (Historic Route 66) in the 1960s. The statue is also known as the "Statue of Liberty of Los Angeles".
